News

December 2024. My Isaac Newton Institute Proposal with Jean-David Benamou, David Bourne, Beatrice Pelloni, Filippo Santambrogio, Carola Schönlieb, Justin Solomon and Marie-Therese Wolfram has been accepted! This will be a 6-month programme on Optimal Transport. The proposed dates are January to June 2027.

 October 2024. New preprints:

I will be organising a LMS-Bath symposia on Inverse Problems and Machine Learning in Infinite Dimensions with Clarice Poon and Mike Roberts. More information here. There will also be funding for students/ECRs to attend the programme.

May 2024. I'm currently recruiting a 3-year PDRA on my Leverhulme grant. Starting date is September 2024 (or as soon as possible after) and will be based in the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick. The project is on graph-based machine learning.

More information and how to apply here.

April 2024. Congratulations to my (first) PhD student Adrien Weihs who has completed his PhD! Adrien will move to UCLA as a PDRA.

March 2024. I'm very happy to say that the UKRI AI Hub on Probabilistic Artificial Intelligence has received £8.5m funding for the next five years. PhD positions are now open at Warwick, see here, these positions can cover international fees with a full scholarship. Other PhD positions at the partner universities are also being announced and will appear here. Postdoc positions are expected to be advertised soon and will appear here when they are.

I've also been awarded a Leverhulme Trust Research Project grant and will soon be advertising a 3-year postdoc position to work on this project. The project involves analysing robustness and uncertainty quantification of variational problems on graphs that come from semi-supervised machine learning problems. I'm particularly keen to develop methods that work for rare-events and unbalanced classes. The post will be advertised soon and you can contact me for informal inquiries.
